Constantine girls fall to Coloma 5-1 in Regional Finals

(BUCHANAN) – The Constantine girls softball team had to wait a day to play for a Division 3 Regional Championship. After beating Schoolcraft 3-0 in a Saturday semifinal game, the Lady Falcons fell to No. 2 ranked Coloma 5-1 on Sunday in the Regional title game. Coloma got there by beating Jonesville 11-0 in 6 innings. In the semifinals, Mercedes Cole was the winning pitcher for Constantine, pitching a complete game, striking out 13 and giving up three hits. She also had 4 hits herself. In Sunday's Championship game, Coloma took an early lead and went on to get the victory. Cole took the loss, throwing a complete game with seven strikeouts. She also had a pair of hits against Coloma. Constantine finishes the year at 29-8.
