(CENTREVILLE) - Glen Oaks Community College recently celebrated the completion of their South Side renovation project.
The College held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Mary 14 in the gymnasium. Glen Oaks President Dr. Bryan Newton says this renovation was a great step for Glen Oaks and represents more than what people see. Newton says this renovation represents more that new walls, flooring and updated facilities. He says it represents a long term commitment to the future of Glen Oaks and to the students who will walk these halls for generations to come. This project completes work on the campus that started many years ago when the North Side was renovated). (LISTEN ABOVE).
Newton says the South Side renovations have transformed vital areas of the campus. He says they have created modern learning spaces, designed to better support teaching and student success. This includes renovations to the Nora Hagen Theater turning it into an updated learning space for students and faculty. He says it has strengthened and expanded spaces for the Health Sciences programs, helping to prepare the next generation of health care professionals who are so critically needed in our region.
Some of the other projects on the South Side include improvements to the athletic facilities creating space that better support Glen Oaks student-athletes and the overall student experience.
