(COLDWATER) – A Homer man has been arraigned on multiple charges following an incident in March.

According to Branch County District Court Officials, 40 year old Corey Baldridge was arraigned on charges of felony assault, domestic violence and first degree home invasion. The Branch County Prosecutor's Office also decided to file a habitual offender fourth offense sentencing enhancer that carries a mandatory 25 year sentence.

Court officials say on March 20, Baldridge forced his way into his girlfriend's apartment in Coldwater and the two got into an argument. The woman says Baldridge picked up a knife and twice brought his arm down in a stabbing motion, but she was able to catch the arm and stop him from stabbing her.

Baldridge also allegedly choked the women before she was able to get away from him.

Baldridge told court officials that his girlfriend originally had the knife and threw it down. He said he did pick it up but never tried to stab her.

Baldridge's bond has been set at $250,000. In addition, a no contact order was issued by the court. Baldridge is scheduled to have a probable cause hearing on April 15 and then a preliminary examination on April 20.
