Elkhart Man Arrested Following Police Pursuits

(GOSHEN) – An Elkhart man is facing several charges after leading police on a chase on two different days.

Goshen Police Chief Jose Miller says on Wednesday, his officers located a stolen vehicle and attempted to stop it. The individual driving the automobile did not stop and lead police on a pursuit through Goshen, which ended on the south side of the city, with out the suspect being apprehended.

Miller says Thursday morning his officers located the same vehicle in Goshen and attempted to conduct another traffic stop. The vehicle led police on a pursuit that went into New Paris.

The suspect finally stopped and tried to hide in an acquaintance’s house. The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office and the Goshen Police surrounded the house and the suspect, 22 year old Dillon Scholl of Elkhart, was taken into custody.

Scholl was arrested on two counts of resisting law enforcement, possession of a handgun without a license, reckless driving, driving without a license, possession of methamphetamine as well as 3 warrant charges.

Miller says there is a continuing investigation by his department that may result in additional charges.
