(STURGIS) – Portions of Orange Street are going to closed down over the next couple of weeks.

Sturgis Assistant City Manager Andrew Kuk says Indiana & Michigan Power has scheduled power pole replacement and repair work on the 69 thousand volt line. This means there will be several short term closures on South Orange Street starting next Monday April 12 and lasting through Friday, April 23.

The proposed schedule will be April 12 and 13, South Orange between West South and Elm Streets will be closed. On April 14, South Orange between Norwood and Wenzel Street will be closed. On April 15 it will be South Orange between Enterprise and West Congress Street and on April 20 it will be South Orange between West Congress and U.S. 12.

Kuk says all closures will include signed detours. Areas where work is taking place will be closed to through traffic, but traffic whose destination is within the block under closure will have access.

The proposed schedule is subject to change due to weather or other issues. Please pay attention to all closures and detour signage.
