(UNDATED) – A Sturgis man was one of two people injured in a two vehicle crash.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says 44 year old Jacob Larrison of Sturgis was driving west on U.S. 20 near County Road 31 just before 3 PM Monday. A second vehicle, driven by 16 year old Jon Knepp of Goshen, was heading east on U.S. 20.

Deputies say Larrison crossed into the eastbound lane and struck Knepp's vehicle head on.

Larrison was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with chest pain and a ruptured aorta. Knepp was flown from the scene by Med Flight to South Bend Memorial Hospital with a broken leg and internal injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
