Four People Injured In Toll Road Crash

(LAGRANGE COUNTY) – A two vehicle crash on the Indiana Toll Road in LaGrange County injured four people.

Indiana State Police say at 6:40 PM Tuesday, 37 year old Jon McGlory of Minneapolis, Minnesota was driving his vehicle west on the Indiana Toll Road near the 118 mile marker, four miles west of Howe. Troopers determined McGlory lost control of his vehicle after falling asleep and swerving to miss an orange construction barrel.

McGlory's vehicle went off the road, crossed through the grass median, and came into the eastbound lanes, where he crashed into a passenger vehicle, driven by 48 year old Daniell Sabater of Des Plaines, Illinois. Both vehicles rolled over several times and sustained heavy damage.

Sabater along with his wife and their two year old son, all sustained injuries in the crash. Mrs. Sabater and her son were flown by Parkview Samaritan helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. The toddler's injuries are serious, and his mother's injuries were minor.

Daniell Sabater was taken by ambulance to Parkview LaGrange Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. All three were properly restrained and their airbags did deploy.

McGlory only had minor injuries in the crash. He had a preliminary breath alcohol concentration of .117 McGlory was initially taken to Parkview LaGrange Hospital for a medical evaluation, and he also voluntarily submitted for a blood draw for chemical testing protocol. He was then taken to the LaGrange County Jail where he was booked on several charges related to driving while intoxicated.

Final charges will be determined by the LaGrange County Prosecutor.

Assisting at the scene were the Howe Fire and Rescue and LaGrange EMS. The investigation is continuing.
