(INDIANAPOLIS) – Jobless rates around NE Indiana went up slightly from April to May.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the largest increase was in Noble County, which went up from 3.4 percent in April to 3.8 percent in May. That's an increase of four-tenths of a percent.

LaGrange County saw an increase of three-tenths of a percent from 2.3 to 2.6 percent. That's still the second lowest unemployment rate in the State for May.

DeKalb County also increased three-tenths of a percent, from an even 3 percent to 3.3 percent. Elkhart County increased from an even 3 percent to 3.2 percent, which is a jump of two-tenths of a percent. Steuben County also went up two-tenths of a percent from 2.9 to 3.1 percent.

Statewide, the unemployment rate in Indiana was 4.5 percent in May, up from 3.9 percent in April, an increase of six-tenths of a percent.
