Kendallville Police Searching For Shooting Suspect

(KENDALLVILLE) – Kendallville Police are searching for a suspect involved in a weekend shooting that left one person dead and two people injured.

Police officials say they received a 911 call just before midnight Sunday of a reported shooting at Gallops, 1215 West North Street in Kendallville. The caller advised there were several people shot and one shooter, who had left the scene.

Kendallville Police and the Noble County Sheriff's Department arrived and found three victims. The Kendallville Fire Department and Parkview Noble EMS responded to the scene and transported two victims to area hospitals where they are listed in critical but stable condition. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following their investigation, officers have identified a person of interest. They are looking for 24 year old Matthew Rodriguez. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 225 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Rodriguez should be considered “Armed and Dangerous”. He is reported to be driving a red, 2010 Kia Forte, with an Indiana license plate number AYW713. If anyone has information on Rodriguez's location, they should contact police immediately.

The investigation is continuing.
