(FORT WAYNE) – A Kendallville man has been sentenced on a Federal drug charge.

Acting United States Attorney Tina Nommay says a sentence of 17 and a half years in prison was given to 41 year old Jason Wallen, after he entered a plea of guilty to possessing with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

United States District Court Judge Holly Brady also sentenced Wallen to five years of supervised release.

According to court documents, on May 23, 2019, Wallen was arrested and found to be in possession of 50 grams or more of meth, with intent to distribute. Because he had been convicted of several prior drug trafficking felonies, Wallen qualified as a career offender, pursuant to the United States Sentencing Guidelines.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, with the assistance of the Garrett Police Department, the Indiana State Police, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, and the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
