(ANGOLA) – An Angola woman suffered multiple injuries after being struck while riding a bicycle.

Steuben County Communications says at 12:45 PM Tuesday they were notified of a truck versus bicycle crash on County Road 200 North near Glendarin Way.

The Angola Police Department arrived and determined that a dump truck owned by the Steuben County Highway Department had been traveling east on County Road 200 North, and driven by 43 year old Jared Perkins of Montgomery, Michigan. At the same time, 67 year old Susan Stroh of Angola was riding a bicycle east bound, just ahead of the truck.

Officers says Stroh was struck from behind and knocked off of her bicycle. She was initially taken to Cameron Hospital, then flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, where she is listed in critical condition with a head injury and broken bones.

Assisting at the scene were the Steuben County Sheriff's Office, Steuben County EMS and the Angola Fire Department. The incident is still under investigation.
