June Unemployment Rate Up Slightly In Indiana

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Indiana's unemployment rate went up slightly from May to June of 2021.

Information released by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development show that the State's unemployment rate rose from an even 4 percent in May to 4.1 percent in June.

Indiana's labor force had a net increase of 4,148 over the previous month. This was a result of an increase of 3,014 unemployed residents and an increase of 1,134 employed individuals.

Indiana's total labor force, which includes both Hoosiers employed and those seeking employment, stands at 3.35 million. The State's 63.2 percent labor force participation rate remains above the National rate of 61.6 percent.

Indiana's June employment rate was below the National rate of 5.9 percent.

June employment data for Indiana counties and cities will be released on Monday.
