(GOSHEN) – A man is dead following a personal injury accident.

Goshen Police Chief Jose Miller says his department was called to 1304 E. Lincoln Avenue just before 3 PM Friday. Officers determined that a pick up, driven by Thomas Nagle, had arrived at the Goshen Church of God to deliver food for their food pantry.

Officers say 73 year old Jack Hurd was attempting to direct the pick up as it was backing up, when Nagle's foot hit the gas pedal instead of the break twice, which made the truck lurch forward and pin Hurd between the vehicle and the building.

Paramedics attempted life saving measures, but Hurd was pronounced dead at the scene.
