(GIRARD TOWNSHIP) – A two vehicle crash in Girard Township claimed the lives of four people.

Branch County Sheriff John Pollack says his department was called to Marshall Road just north of Bidwell Road, just after 3 PM Saturday.

Deputies say that 45 year old Christopher Raymond of Bronson was driving his SUV south on Marshall Road. The vehicle went over the center line, and hit a pick up that was traveling north, driven by 62 year old Theresa Mills of Coldwater.

Mills was trapped in her vehicle and removed by Coldwater Fire Rescue. She was taken to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Mills’ passengers in the pick up, 44 year old Angela Balowski of Union City and 22 year old William Balowski of Battle Creek, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Raymond was trapped in his SUV and also removed by first responders. He was also pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries.

Assisting at the scene were the Michigan State Police along with the Branch County Coroner’s Office. The crash is still under investigation.
