(CENTREVILLE) – Financially speaking, St. Joseph County is doing well.

The St. Joseph County Commission was presented with the audit report for the 2021 fiscal year during a recent meeting. Gabridge and Company did the audit and presented the results, announcing that they are giving a clean opinion on the County’s finances. That’s the highest opinion that can be given.

According to Gabridge, St. Joseph County’s revenue in 2021 was just over $29 million, which is an increase of approximately $3.1 million from the previous year. Expenses for 2021 were $25.9 million. The report showed that achievement is wonderful, based on what’s been going on the last couple of years due to COVID.

The total fund balance for St. Joseph County was $11.7 million, which is an increase of approximately $1.6 million from the prior year.
