More ARPA Funds Coming To SW Michigan and NE Indiana

(LANSING) – More money is coming to Southwest Michigan and Northeast Indiana to support infrastructure and economic growth.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has announced that over 1,650 communities across the State will be getting more than $321 million as part of the second batch of federal American Rescue Plan Act Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund payments.

St. Joseph County will be getting $11,841,542. Branch County will receive $8,452,667, while Cass County will be getting $10,059, 018, and Hillsdale County is going to get $8,858,237.

Whitmer says this funding will empower communities across Michigan to continue getting things done that make a real difference in people’s lives. She says this money will help Michigan counties, cities, villages and townships invest in local roads and bridges; support essential workers; and protect safe drinking water.

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb announced that counties in Northeast Indiana will be receiving ARPA funds along with other counties LaGrange County will be receiving $7,694,5555. Noble County is getting $9,273,712; Steuben County will get $6,719,479; DeKalb County will get $8,444,509 and Elkhart County is getting $40,079,320.

In addition, the City of Elkhart will be getting $18,042,360 and the City of Goshen $6,692,508.
