(CENTREVILLE) – Glen Oaks Community College has an updated Strategic Plan.

During Thursday’s meeting, the Glen Oaks Community College Board of Trustees approved the updated plan which will be in effect from 2022 until 2025.

Tammy Russell, Executive Director of Institutional Planning, Assessment, and Research, proposed the recommended changes during the focus topic portion of the meeting. Russell says a number of the school’s objectives have been met, and a few, where it made sense, were combined. Russell says some new objectives include establishing pathways for all programs of study and achieving campus-wide utilization of Watermark, which is a retention software program utilized by faculty and staff to help identify students who are struggling, and allows the school to provide support.

Additional objectives include: investigating the potential for solar energy installation on campus; Installing an electric vehicle charging station; Reviewing, creating and implementing academic policies and procedures; Pursuing program specific accreditation; and Providing employees with enhanced emergency preparedness training.
