(MOTTVILLE TOWNSHIP) – A crash between a pick up and a semi claimed the life of a Florida man.

The Michigan State Police say a pick up, driven by a 61 year old Florida man, was heading west on U.S. 12 near Vistula Road in Mottville Township at 12 PM Tuesday when he crossed the center line and struck an eastbound semi head on.


The Florida man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, a 53 year old Indiana man, was take to Beacon Health Three Rivers to be treated for minor injuries.

Troopers say both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Their names have not been released until family can be notified.

Assisting at the scene were the White Pigeon Police and Fire Departments and Life Care Ambulance. The crash is still under investigation.
