(CENTREVILLE) – There is a possibility that Centreville Schools could ask the community for a bond renewal in the new year.

In a report to the Centreville Board of Education, Superintendent Chad Brady explained that the School District is currently asking for feedback from the community for a possible bond renewal.

Voters approved the current Centreville Schools bond in the amount of $12.8 million in November 2013, and it was collected in three phases. The bond was to be used for work that included remodeling and furnishing buildings in the school district; purchasing school buses; acquiring and installing technology for a new bus garage; installing and equipping school buildings with educational technology; improving the track at Centreville Junior/Senior High School; and improving the playgrounds, athletic fields and facilities at the Junior/Senior High School.

Brady will be presenting the results of the community feedback during the Board of Education’s next meeting on December 12. The renewal could possibly be brought to voters in May 2023.
