(CENTREVILLE) – A new remote work policy has been approved by the Glen Oaks Community College Board of Trustees.

During their meeting Thursday, the Board voted in favor of the policy that they had been told about in November. It was developed by the Human Resources Department, who said since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a surge in businesses and organizations across the country allowing remote work.

Human Resources Director Jamie Yesh shared with the Board of Trustees in November the main reason for the policy is that workforce flexibility has been in high demand for many employees. She says Glen Oaks has lost employees to other businesses that has that kind of flexibility for their workers.

The policy provides a guide for employee expectations, supervisor responsibilities and the overall process for the agreement.
