(INDIANAPOLIS) – 2022 was a banner year for Indiana in one specific category.

In a media release, Governor Eric Holcomb announced that the State of Indiana was able to attract 218 companies to either expand or locate in the Hoosier State during the year. Those commitments have resulted in investments that total $22.2 billion and helped to create over 2,400 new jobs.

Holcomb says it’s expected that the investments will create jobs that have an average wage of $34.71. That would be the highest amount in the 17 year history of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.

Holcomb says that the capital investment in Indiana was 260 percent higher than in 2021.
