(STURGIS) – The Sturgis Historical Museum At The Depot will be starting to look for a new Director in the near future.

In a post on Facebook, Jenifer Blouin Policelli announced that December 30 is her last day as Museum Director. She was hired into the position in October 2018.

Policelli says it’s been an honor to dive into history alongside the Board and the community, and will always cherish her memories of working at the Depot. She says she will be moving on to a new career path that will allow her to be closer to her home in Indiana.

Policelli says her hope is that the community will continue to support the Sturgis Historical Society, and continue to trust the Depot Museum to bring the very best in history education to the community.

Sturgis Historical Society President Jackie Persing shared with Swick Broadcasting that sometime early in the new year the Historical Society Board and the Sturgis Area Community Foundation will get together and discuss how to move forward. The Foundation houses the fund that originated the Director’s position.

Persing says Amelia Earl will be with the Museum to help out until late summer when she attends graduate school.
