Angola Man Arrested Following Domestic Incident

(ANGOLA) – A man has been arrested on multiple charges following a weekend incident in Northeast Indiana.

At 6 PM on Friday, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office were called to a residence in the area of 4400 West County Road105 South in Angola to investigate a domestic situation involving a firearm.

Deputies met with a male victim and a female witness. According to their statements, a man known to them as 54 year old James Donbrock, allegedly entered the residence without permission and then pointed a handgun at the victim. Donbrock also threatened the victim with the gun and struck the victim on the head with the firearm, causing a minor injury.

The witness said they were able to leave the residence while the victim tried to talk to Donbrock. The victim was eventually able to flee the residence and call 911. Sheriff’s deputies and the Indiana State Police searched for Donbrock, and found him a short time later at his residence in the area of 4400 West County Road 150 South, and he was taken into custody.

Donbrock was taken to the Steuben County Sheriff’s office were he was interviewed, and then arrested on felony charges of burglary, resident unlawful injury; intimidation; battery committed with a deadly weapon and pointing a firearm, along with a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.

Officers obtained a search warrant for Donbrock’s house where they found items believed to be related to the incident.

The matter is still under investigation and additional charges are pending.
