(UNDATED) – A two vehicle crash over the weekend injured a Tekonsha teen.

The Branch County Sheriff’s Department says that 17 year old Tristen Demeritt was driving south Saturday afternoon on Gorbell Road and failed to stop at the intersection of Dayburg Road. His vehicle struck an eastbound vehicle, driven by 22 year old Dawson McClughen of Quincy.

Demeritt was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from his vehicle. He was temporarily trapped under the front passenger side tire until he could be removed by first responders. He was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo with non life threatening injuries. Deputies say Demeritt’s air bags did deploy.

McClughen was not injured in the crash. He was wearing his safety belt and his air bags did activate.

Assisting deputies were the Coldwater Fire Department and the Marshall Ambulance Service.
