Sturgis City Commission Interviews Two For 2nd Precinct Seat

(STURGIS) – Two individuals were interviewed for an upcoming vacancy on the Sturgis City Commission.

During a work session Wednesday night, the City Commission conducted interviews with Emmanuel Nieves and Charles Huber. They submitted their names to be considered for a seat to represent the 2nd Precinct that is currently held by Travis Klinger. Klinger announced recently that he is stepping down from the Commission at the end of April.

Both candidates were asked several questions by the Commissioners. Nieves was the first person to be interviewed and was asked why he thinks he is the right candidate for the Commission. ...... {LISTEN}.

Nieves owns and operates his own business, where he repairs, sells and delivers pallets.

Huber was asked the same question. ...... {LISTEN}.

Huber, who recently retired, formerly served on the City Commission, representing the Second Precinct.

The Commission will discuss the candidates during their April 26 meeting and vote at that time for who they want to replace Klinger. The newly appointed person would be sworn in on May 1.

Klinger’s term runs until 2024.
