Coldwater Police Investigating Hit And Run

(COLDWATER) – The Coldwater Police Department is investigating a hit and run crash that happened over the weekend involving a car and a bicycle.

Coldwater Director of Public Safety Joe Scheid says a car was driving west on U.S. 12 at Marshall Street around 10:40 PM Saturday when it struck a bicyclist. The biker was thrown clear of the scene, and the bicycle became lodged under the car, and was drug for several blocks. The suspect vehicle never stopped and drove away.

The bicyclist sustained only minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene. Assisting Police were the Coldwater Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance.

Officers say the suspect vehicle is a black or dark colored 4 door sedan and has front end damage.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Coldwater Police Department at 517-278-4525, and ask for Officer Estrada.
