(STURGIS) - The Sturgis Kiwanis Club recently honored the Sturgis High School Key Club April Students of the month.

Charissa Diersing is a senior, and has compiled the highest number of volunteer hours, (115) of any current Key Club Member. She enjoys helping and meeting new people in our community. Charissa is involved in The Big Buddy program, National Honor Society, Leo Club, Youth Group, and is an intern at Youth for Christ. Upon graduation Charissa plans to attend Oklahoma Wesleyan University to major in bible studies. She would like to become a Missionary.

Cindy Gonzalez is a junior, and has 79 documented volunteer hours. She is also involved in the Big Buddy program, Spanish National Honor Society, Leo Club, and soccer. Her career goal is to become a Pediatric Nurse.

The students were invited to a recent Kiwanis luncheon where they were given a certificate in recognition of their service to Key Club.

Key Club is a student run club at Sturgis High School that is sponsored by the Sturgis Noon Kiwanis Club. The Key Club teacher/advisor is Courtney Patrick. Coming up in May the Key Club will be attending the Sturges-Young Volunteer Appreciation Celebration on the 12th. At this event 13 Key Club members will be recognized for volunteering 50 hours or more and helping to hit the national levels for recognition.
