(LAGRANGE) – Authorities are searching for a man who escaped during a standoff Wednesday.

LaGrange County Sheriff Tracy Harker says his office received a complaint of a domestic disturbance at a residence located at 10395 East 050 North, LaGrange. Deputies arrived on scene around 5 AM and made contact with a female victim, who said there was a man inside the house, identified as Joshua Allen Wilson, who was possibly armed and suicidal.

The woman said she had been kept in a closet, and that Wilson was threatening to shoot her and the police.

Several police agencies were called to the scene for assistance, including the LaGrange Police Department, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, the Auburn and Angola Police Departments and the Indiana State Police.

After several hours of trying to contact Wilson by audio commands and cell phone calls, the Auburn City SWAT Team and Steuben SRT Team entered the residence and discovered Wilson left the house and escaped on foot. It’s believed that he left just before the police arrived.

Charges of intimidation with a firearm, invasion of privacy, domestic battery and strangulation are being sought against Wilson. If anyone has information on his location, they are asked to contact the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office at 260-463-7491.
