(CENTREVILLE) – It’s going to cost a little bit more to attend Glen Oaks Community College.

During their May meeting, the Glen Oaks Board of Trustees approved a 2.7% tuition increase. Both the general and technology fees will remain the same.

Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, students will pay a $3 increase per contact hour. That will bring the new rates to $133 per contact hour for in district students, which are those who live in St. Joseph County. The tuition for Service Area residents, which are Cass County residents in the Constantine, Three Rivers or White Pigeon School Districts, along with Branch County, Michigan, and LaGrange, Elkhart, Steuben and St. Joseph Counties in Indiana, will be $164 per contact hour.

Tuition for State of Michigan residents, who are those who live in Michigan, but are outside the service area, will be $199 per contact hour in the upcoming school year. For Out of State Residents, the cost will be $235 per contact hour and for International students, it will be $283 per contact hour.

Glen Oaks Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Dodson says based on a typical 12 contact hour semester, the overall tuition increase will amount to $36. Dodson says the increases were set to help offset inflation.
