(CONSTANTINE TOWNSHIP) – Michigan State Police are investigating a home invasion that resulted in a shooting.

At 11 PM Friday, troopers were sent to a house in the 60,000 block of Maple Road in Constantine Township. When they arrived, troopers found a man outside the home with a gunshot wound to the upper thigh.

Troopers provided lifesaving measures to the suspect, who was then taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital. The suspect underwent surgery and is listed in stable condition.

Troopers say they determined that the suspect, armed with a knife came into the home, and the homeowner shot the individual. The incident is still under investigation.
