April Unemployment Rates Drop Around NE Indiana In April

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Jobless rates went down around Northeast Indiana from March to April.

According to information released by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, LaGrange County saw their unemployment rate go from 3% in March to 2.1% in April.

Noble County and Elkhart County both saw a full one percent drop in their unemployment rates from March to April. Noble County dropped from 3.7% to 2.7%, while Elkhart County went from 3.8% to 2.8%. Steuben County saw a decrease from 2.8% to an even 2%, and DeKalb County saw a decrease from 3% to 2.3%.

Statewide, the unemployment rate went from 3.1% to an even 3%. That’s still lower than the national rate for April was 3.4%.

The City of Elkhart saw their unemployment rate drop from 5% in March to 3.8% in April. The City of Goshen went from 3.8% to 2.7%.
