(LAGRANGE) – A missing persons case from LaGrange County has been solved.

LaGrange County Sheriff Tracy Harker says Ralph Stutzman and his wife had 13 children that they were raising on their farm, located southeast of LaGrange. On August 17, 1952, Stutzman left his house, assuring his family he would be back in about 20 minutes after attending to the cows, but he never returned.

Harker says on February 12 of this year, he was contacted by a genealogist. Following a thorough investigation, it was determined that Stutzman changed his name for some unknown reason and moved elsewhere. Investigators found records that determined Stutzman died in 1968.

A press conference will be held by the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office on June 16 at 1 PM and more information will be released at that time.
