(ELKHART) – A man is in custody in connection with a fatal shooting in Elkhart.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department says 39 year old Roosevelt Lewis Jr. has been arrested and charged with murder along with possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and criminal recklessness in the death of 44 year old Tom Moser of Illinois.

The shooting happened on 5th Street, between Marion and Harrison Streets in Elkhart in the early morning hours of September 21. Authorities say that surveillance videos allegedly show Lewis shooting at and entering a home where Moser’s body was later found.

Lewis is in custody and is being held without bond. The case is still being investigated.
