
Jobless Rates Decrease In Southern Michigan From August To September

(LANSING) – For the second straight month, the unemployment rate went down around Southern Michigan.
The Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget says that St. Joseph County dropped from 4.5% to 4.2% from August to September.
Branch County saw the biggest drop from 4.2% to 3.8%. Cass County saw an unemployment decrease from 4.7% to 4.5%. Hillsdale County saw their unemployment drop from 4.6% to 4.3%.
Wayne Rourke, Labor Market Information Director of the Michigan Center for Data and Analytics says the State’s regional labor markets all displayed typical seasonal rate declines in September.
