
NE Indiana Unemployment Down In September

(INDIANAPOLIS) – Counties in Northeast Indiana saw their unemployment rates drop from August to September.
The Department of Workforce Development says the biggest drop was in Elkhart County from 4.4% to 3.8% over the month.
LaGrange County went from 3.1% to 2.6% while Noble County had a decrease from 4% to 3.5% from August to September.
Steuben County had a drop in their unemployment, going from 3% to 2.7%. DeKalb County went from 3.2% to 3%.
The Cities of Elkhart and Goshen also had a drop in their unemployment rate from August to September, going from 4.4% to 3.8%.
Statewide, the unemployment rate dropped from 3.7% to 3.3%. That’s below the national unemployment rate for September which is 3.6%. One year ago, the Indiana unemployment rate was 2.5%.
