(PHILADELPHIA) – The Sturgis Rite Aid Store will be closing as of November 7

Rite Aid Corporation is going through a financial restructuring, and as a part of that process will be closing some of their stores across the United States, including the one at 102 North Centreville Road in Sturgis.

In a statement from the Rite Aid corporate offices send to Swick Broadcasting, the company says:

“Rite Aid regularly assesses its retail footprint to ensure we are operating efficiently while meeting the needs of our customers, communities, associates and overall business. In connection with the court-supervised process, we notified the Court of certain underperforming stores we are closing to further reduce rent expense and strengthen overall financial performance. At this time, we have not made or confirmed any decisions on additional specific store closures as part of our financial restructuring process”.

Rite Aid officials say they have also reached an agreement in principle with certain of its senior secured noteholders on the terms of a financial restructuring, that would significantly reduce the Company’s debt.

Rite Aid says they are making every effort to ensure customers of impacted stores have access to health services, whether at another Rite Aid or a nearby pharmacy. They will work to transfer prescriptions accordingly so that there is no disruption of services.

Rite aid says they will also transfer associates at impacted stores to other Rite Aid Locations where possible.
