(COLDWATER) – A member of the Branch County Commission is running for the Michigan House of Representatives.
Tom Matthew has announced that he is seeking the Republican nomination to run for State Representative for the 35th District, which is made up of Branch, Hillsdale and parts of Lenawee Counties.
In a media release, Matthew says he is fully aware of the needs of the counties that make up the 35th District and the State of Michigan. He says his desire to serve the citizens is one of the reasons he is running for the State House, with the goal to help lead Michigan with healthy family units, keeping families safe along with providing infrastructure and an environment for jobs.
Matthew currently serves the Commission’s Vice Chairman, and is the head of the Public Safety Committee.
Andrew Fink, who currently serves as Representative to the 35th Michigan House District has announced he will not seek another term and instead will run for the Michigan Supreme Court in 2024.
