(POKAGON TOWNSHIP) – A two vehicle crash in Cass County’s Pokagon Township sent a person to the hospital.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, 42 year old Schinika Kelley of Dowagiac was driving north on M-51 at 11:38 AM Friday. 72 year old Stephen Pinkowski of Hartford was heading east on Wells Street and failed to stop at the M-51 intersection, striking Kelley’s vehicle, and both went off the road.

Kelley was taken to Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in Niles to be treated for her injuries. Kelley’s passenger, 20 year old Schtirika White, also of Dowagiac, along with Pinkowski, were treated at the scene.

Both drivers were wearing their safety belts at the time of the crash. Assisting deputies were the Pokagon Tribal Police, the Pokagon Fire Department, the Michigan State Police and the SMCAS Ambulance Service.
