(SHERMAN TOWNSHIP) – A search of a St. Joseph County house uncovered weapons and drugs.

The Southwest Enforcement Team, along with the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team, the Michigan State Police K-9 Unit and the Emergency Support Team executed a search warrant Tuesday at a house in the 25,000 block of Hiawatha Drive in Sherman Township.

During the search, detectives located 79 illegally possessed firearms, both rifles and shotguns. Some of them had been illegally modified, and at least one was reported stolen. In addition, officers found a small quantity of methamphetamine, signs of distribution of illegal narcotics, including suspected LSD.

No arrests were made at that time. However, detectives do anticipate numerous felony charges will be coming as this case is being forwarded to State and Federal prosecutors for review.
