(WAYNE TOWNSHIP) – A two vehicle crash sent a person to the hospital.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department says deputies were sent to investigate a two vehicle crash just before 7 PM Thursday in Wayne Township. They determined that 26 year old James Wyatt-Lee Kusa of Dowagiac was traveling south on Twin Lakes Road when he struck a tree that had fallen in the roadway. Kusa lost control and hit a parked vehicle, that had their four way flashers on. Kusa’s vehicle then overturned.

Kusa was removed from his vehicle by first responders and taken to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital to be treated for non life threatening injuries. The occupants of the second vehicle, 69 year old Michael Wiggins and 66 year old Patricia Wiggins, both of Dowagiac, were not injured.

Assisting deputies were the Dowagiac and Wayne Township Fire Departments and the SMCAS Ambulance Service.
