(DEKALB COUNTY) – Two women were injured when their vehicles collided over the weekend.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office was called to the intersection of State Road 3 and State Road 205 at 7 PM Sunday.

Sergeant Ben Browand says he spoke first to 46 year old Chasity Godoy of Auburn, who said she was heading west on State Road 205 and crossing State Road 3, when the other vehicle, driven by 48 year old Hilda Abrego of Fort Wayne, ran the red light and struck her on the driver’s side.

Browand then spoke to Abrego, who said she was heading north on State Road 3 when Godoy ran the red light, and struck her.

Godoy complained of neck and leg pain while Abrego had chest pain. Both were taken to an area hospital by Parkview EMS and Huntertown EMS.

Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.
