(STURGIS) – Sturgis Public Schools has found a company to provide school meals.

During a recent Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert shared the process to find a partner started several months ago, which included a re-writing of their RFP. Ebert says he along with Director of Food Service Darlene Cline and Board Of Education President Emily Halling traveled around to visit with six different food service partners, including to Constantine Schools and the Chicago, Illinois area.

Ebert says throughout this process, there were two conditions that needed to be met. ...... {LISTEN}.

Ebert says the recommendation from himself, Cline and Halling is to have Taher be the provider to work with Sturgis Public Schools. He said on their tours, the group spoke to the people preparing the food at the different locations to see if it was being done from scratch. ...... {LISTEN}.

The Board voted unanimously to accept the recommendation and hire Taher. They will start providing meals in August when the 2024-2025 school year begins.
