(STURGIS) – Authorities say they found some stolen property and have a suspect in custody.
St. Joseph County Undersheriff Jason Bingaman says on July 25, his office was called to investigate a breaking and entering at a residence in the 29,000 block of Kelly Road in Burr Oak Township. Deputies found that over $1,000 in tools and a four wheeler were stolen.
On July 30, Bingaman says deputies received information that the stolen property was possibly at a residence in the City of Sturgis. The information led to a search warrant being issued and executed in the 200 block of Susan Avenue.
Deputies located all of the stolen property from the Kelly Road residence, along with other items possibly stolen from other locations and methamphetamine.
A 40 year old Sturgis man was arrested and lodged in the St. Joseph County Jail.
The Sturgis Department of Public Safety, Police Division, assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
