(DEKALB COUNTY) – An Auburn man received multiple injuries in a motorcycle vs pickup crash.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office says 41 year old Andrew Becker of Kendallville was driving his pickup and pulling an enclosed trailer north in the 5800 block of County Road 35 around 4:20 PM Saturday. A motorcycle, operated by 33 year old Braylon Gagnon of Auburn, was heading south.

Becker started to turn left into Byler Lane Winery and says he didn’t see Gagnon until he started the turn. Gagnon saw Becker turning and braked hard, causing his bike to go side and slide on the ground, until coming into
contact with the trailer.

Gagnon was wearing a helmet, which came off during the crash.

The Auburn Fire Department and Parkview EMS arrived at the scene and started providing first aid to Gagnon who was flown by Samaritan Helicopter to Parkview Regional Medical Center. He is being treated for a head injury, lacerations to his face and head and abrasions to his arms and legs.

Becker was not injured in the crash.
