(STURGIS) – Safety in school buildings is a high priority for Sturgis Public Schools.

Sturgis is constantly looking at what can be done to maintain the safety of students and staff in their buildings. Many of the steps taken can’t be shared with the public. However, Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert shares of the steps currently being taken by the District. ...... {LISTEN}.

Another safety police for Sturgis Schools according to Ebert, is that all classroom doors are to be locked. ...... {LISTEN}.

In addition, all exterior doors at all of the school buildings are to be locked and are not to be propped open. Ebert says staff are constantly checking to make sure doors are locked.
