(DEKALB COUNTY) – A Sturgis woman was injured in a two vehicle crash in Northeast Indiana.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says at 2:40 PM Saturday, 30 year old Adam Hartman of Auburn was driving east on U.S. 6, and attempted to turn left onto County Road 19, but had to yield to oncoming traffic before he could safely turn.
A vehicle driven by 54 year old Trinka Rinard of Sturgis was also traveling east on U.S. 6 and told deputies she attempted to retrieve something from the floor of her vehicle and did not see Hartman had stopped. Rinard rear ended Hartman’s vehicle while traveling 55 MPH.
Rinard complained of lower back pain, numbness in her legs along with abrasions on both arms. She was taken to Parkview Hospital for treatment.
Hartman told deputies he hit his head during the collision but refused an EMS examination.
The Corunna Fire Department, Waterloo Marshal’s Office and Parkview EMS all assisted at the scene.
