Sturgis Chamber Honors Businesses, Individuals During Annual Dinner

(STURGIS) – Some Sturgis area businesses and individuals were honored Thursday night.
The Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their 2024 Annual Dinner at the Sturges-Young Center For The Arts. Following the dinner, Chamber Executive Director Kari Hatt thanked outgoing Chamber Board President Tom Bontrager of Locey CPA for his leadership. She then introduced the 2025 Board President Melissa Noel of Burr Oak Tool.
The Chamber also handed out the Phoenix Award, which recognizes a business that had done major improvements to their location, or to a new business that stands out. This year’s winner is La Michoacana on South Centreville Road.
The other nominees were My Freakin’ Pizza and The Watershed Apartments.
The Outstanding Customer Service Award, which is given for superior customer service and professional presentation goes to Brett Modert of Boland Tire. The other nominees were Oakley Stevens of Stevens Brothers and Bread & Butter Kitchen.
The 2024 Outstanding Community Service Award was presented to Amanda Wickey of Maximum Chiropractic. This award is presented to an individual in appreciation for their selfless efforts and years of dedication to the Sturgis community.
The other nominees were Nick West of Sturgis Bank and Tommy Littlefield of Sturgis Bank.
