(BRONSON) – A contract for architectural services has been approved by the Bronson City Council for work on the City Hall and Police Department project.
The Council on Monday voted to enter into a contract with Martin and Riley of Fort Wayne to do the work on this project. The City is looking to move the City offices from their present location at 141 South Matteson Street to the new Police Department building, at 120 West Chicago Road.
Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman says the Police Building has twice the size of the current City Hall.
Mersman says Martin and Riley have done similar projects in the cities of Decatur, New Haven, Ligonier and Rushville, Indiana. Their estimate for the Bronson Project was between $450,000 and $600,000.

A garage for police vehicles and an additional office are also being considered.
Mersman says some of the work such as the locker room could be bid as alternates, which would keep the overall price down.
Councilman Matt Watkins says the City needs to be careful because there’s been a lot of comments circulating about this project. ...... {LISTEN}.
Mersman says the timeline for the project calls for the construction contract being awarded in October and construction starting in November.
The project is expected to be finished in June 2026.
