Lakeland falls to Angola 40-21 in NECC battle
(LAGRANGE) – It wasn’t the Homecoming that host Lakeland was hoping for as they fell to the visiting Angola Hornets 40-21 in and NECC Big School Division game. Held scoreless in the first half, the Lakers got their offense going in the final two corners, but it wasn’t quite enough. Brayden Holbrook was 8 of 14 for 118 yards and a touchdown for Lakeland. Blake Alleshouse had 4 receptions for 74 yards and a score while Levi Cook added 4 receptions for 62 yards. ...... {LISTEN}. Khamron Malaivahn rushed 21 times for 103 yards and a score. Cameron Riegling led the Lakeland defense with 18 tackles. Alleshouse added 13 tackles and Drannon Miller had 11 tackles. Angola’s Tyler Call rushed 18 times for 167 yards and 2 TD’s for Angola while Andre Tagliaferri had 15 carries for 99 yards and 2 TD’s. Lakeland is now 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the NECC Big School Division. Angola improves to 3-2 and 2-0 in the Division.
