(PLAINWELL) - The Sturgis girls basketball team went on the road and beat Plainwell 47-45. Coach Andy Phillips says It was a gritty win for his team who were relentless on defense and took care of the ball in the fourth quarter. Cora Phillips led the Lady Trojans with 12 points. Angela Cary added 10 points while Kinder Smith had 9 points and Sydney Bir added 7 points. Sturgis is now 10-2 overall and 7-2 in the Wolverine Conference. The Sturgis JV girls lost 54-44.
